This introductory course is for therapists who want to learn about the connection between women’s menstrual cycles and mental health. It will cover the basics of the menstrual cycle, how hormonal changes affect mood, and simple ways to help your clients recognize and manage their symptoms

  2. Understand How Hormones Affect Mood and Mental Health: Learn how shifts in hormones can impact emotions and identify symptoms that are impacted by these shifts

  3. Recognize How Stress and Trauma Can Affect the Menstrual Cycle: Understand how stress and trauma can contribute to heightened sensitivity and vulnerability to hormonal changes.

  4. Explore & Enhance Somatic Approaches to Support Menstrual and Mental Health: Learn how body-based techniques can help regulate the nervous system, reduce stress, and support menstrual and mental well-being; add a few new tools to your toolbox.

  • No perquisites required at this time. This training is intended for therapists and or people in a clinical role (LMFT, LSW, LCSW, LPC, LPCC, etc.) However, this is not a requirement.

  • Your trainer for this course is Jordyn Russo, LCSW. Jordyn has spent over a decade in the field of social work and working on developing this training. Jordyn is a co-owner of Moving Mountains Counseling Center in Littleton, CO where she specializes in working with teen girls and women navigating life transitions, anxiety, panic attacks, and trauma. Jordyn utilizes a holistic, client-centered, and strength-based approach, incorporating EMDR, somatic-based methods, and parts/ego states interventions. Her goal is to help women transform their relationship with their experiences, manage their symptoms, and reconnect with and reclaim their self-trust and sense of self.
